Job Description
The Department of Cognitive Sciences at the United Arab Emirates University has a vacancy for an Assistant or Associate Professor of Philosophy. AOS and AOC are open, but the successful candidate will be expected to teach General Education courses in applied ethics and/or critical thinking as well contributing to the Minors in Cognitive Science and/or Citizenship. The Department of Cognitive Sciences at UAEU is dynamic and diverse, with an excellent track record in research. We seek a collegial and talented colleague in the discipline of philosophy. The UAEU is located in Al Ain city (Emirate of Abu Dhabi), on the border with Oman and about 1.5 hours' drive from both Dubai and Abu Dhabi cities. Minimum Qualification
Applicants must have an earned doctorate in the applicable field. The ability to teach undergraduate courses is essential.
Preferred Qualification
We are seeking an energetic researcher, well-published in high-ranking international journals, and with well-established international research networks. The successful candidate is expected to have a well-developed research plan, with the potential to attract competitive grant funding.
